Midsummer Is Almost Here – A Nordic Summer Tradition Worth Celebrating
The countdown to Midsummer has begun! One of the most cherished celebrations in the Nordic calendar is just around the corner, bringing together family, friends, delicious food and the long, bright evenings that make Nordic summers so special.
This year, however, preparations have been more challenging for us than usual.
Many of you have already noticed that some Finnish products have been unavailable. Unfortunately, a pallet containing a large shipment of chilled food products from Finland disappeared during transport. Despite extensive efforts to locate it, the pallet appears to have gone missing, it may have been lost or stolen. We are continuing to work with the transport company to determine what happened
Needless to say, this has been extremely frustrating for everyone involved, especially as these products were ordered well in advance for the busy Midsummer season. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this situation may have caused.
The good news is that our delivery from Sweden, which was delayed for reasons beyond our control, has now arrived safely. Smoked, hot smoked and marinated salmon (gravlax) are also now in stock.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR YOUR MIDSUMMER TABLE
A traditional Nordic Midsummer celebration is all about simple, high-quality ingredients and sharing good food with good company.
Some of the favourites include:
- New potatoes served with plenty of fresh dill
- Herring in a variety of flavours
- Gravlax and smoked salmon
- Rye bread and Nordic cheeses
- Västerbotten cheese pie topped with roe – don’t miss our recipe!
- Sour cream for herring, potatoes and sauces
- Refreshing elderflower drinks
- Aquavits, beers, ciders and other festive beverages
All of these – and much more – are available both in-store and online.
To ensure your goodies to arrive in time for Midsummer, please place your order no later than Sunday 14th June.

As always, our store in Antibes will remain open throughout the summer, welcoming both local customers and visitors looking for a taste of the North on the French Riviera.
Our webshop also remains open, allowing you to enjoy your Nordic favourites wherever you are.

FRESH FROM THE KITCHEN
is available according to the normal schedule. Sweet rye bread available from Tuesday afternoon, 100 % rye bread on Wednesday afternoon and on Friday the Carelian pasties. Cinnamon rolls are baked every day and are ready from about 11:30 onwards.
AT YOUR SERVICE
from Tuesday to Saturday 10:00-13:30 and 15:30-19:00.
During Midsummer week we will be open normally, even Friday and Saturday!
By arrival with private vehicle the closest parking is the “La Poste” with entrance just in front of us on rue Vauban, outdoor parking and the garage “Pré-des-Pêcheurs” in the harbour.
