Kanelbullens dag is coming and we are celebrating!
Sunday, 4th October is Kanelbullens dag – Swedish Cinnamon Bun Day! And since we are not open on Sundays, we are celebrating a little early at Nordic Temptations on Saturday, 3rd October.
Why does Sweden have a Cinnamon Bun Day?
Kanelbullens dag has become a beloved Swedish tradition, but it is actually a relatively modern one. The day was established in 1999 by Hembakningsrådet, with the idea of celebrating the Swedish baking tradition and, of course, one of Sweden’s most iconic pastries: the kanelbulle.
The date, 4th October, was chosen partly because it was already a day associated with other food-related themes and because the organisers wanted to create a day that would not compete with the many other food celebrations around Christmas.
Today, Kanelbullens dag is celebrated all over Sweden. Bakeries, cafés, workplaces, schools and families enjoy millions of cinnamon buns – and yes, Swedes have become very good at finding an excuse to have fika.
And we are joining the celebration!
On Saturday 3 October, you can stock up on Swedish cinnamon buns at a special Kanelbullens dag price:
Freshly baked cinnamon buns – €1.70 each (Normally €2.10)
Frozen cinnamon buns – €8 / bag of 5 (Normally €10)
There are a few limits, because we want as many cinnamon-bun lovers as possible to get some:
- Without a pre-order: maximum 6 fresh buns per customer
- Without a pre-order: maximum 2 bags of frozen buns per customer
- Pre-orders must be placed by Friday 2 October at 19:00.
So whether you want a traditional Swedish fika, something delicious for the weekend, or simply an excuse to eat cinnamon buns – Saturday is the day!
Something else worth coming to the shop for…
We also have something rather special on its way. A fresh delivery of smoked salmon, hot smoked salmon, smoked whitefish and smoked rainbow trout, as well as gravlax, is currently on its way to Antibes.
It has been a long time since we have had these fresh products in the shop, and this delivery is especially worth mentioning because the next one will not arrive until shortly before Christmas.
If everything goes according to plan, the delivery should arrive on Friday, meaning the products will be available in the shop on Saturday 3 October. Unless, of course, some kind of catastrophe happens along the way!

While we are still enjoying the beginning of October, we are already working hard preparing for Christmas 2026.
As in previous years, customers who place their Christmas pre-orders will receive 20% off.
The updated product selection and exact first-availability dates will be published 👉 on this page during the first half of October.
For now, here is some important information about ordering:
HOW TO PRE-ORDER
- Go to the page where the most typical items for Christmas are all gathered.
- Choose the products you wish by adding them to your cart. If the product is not yet in store, the first date available is shown on the product. You may of course even choose products from our whole range.
- When ready, go to the cart page. Here you may still modify the quantities of each items or delete them if needed.
- If you wish your order to be delivered, you may see the different shipment alternatives including the costs. Please note, your order will be sent in one parcel when all items have arrived. If you want some items to be delivered earlier you must place two different orders. To arrive for Christmas, the last day we send the parcels is Monday 21st December.
- For the 20 % discount to apply, write XMAS20 as the coupon code. If you don’t want to pay more than 50 % of the order value when ordering, the remaining as the products are sent or picked up, write XMAS20+50 as the coupon code.
- When on the checkout page, we want to know when you would like to receive or pick up your order. Choose from the given alternatives or give the exact date for pick up from the store.The “as soon as all products are available” option means that we will ship your order on the earliest possible date once the products are available and fresh. This may be as early as the beginning of December. Please note that, in this case, some products may have a best-before date before Christmas. If you would like your products to have the longest possible shelf life and arrive closer to Christmas, please select the specific Christmas delivery option instead.

- Complete with payment
In the store we can register your order manually, you are welcome any time.
For orders placed after 19th November we can no longer guarantee the availability.
For all alcohol including glögg, the last order date we can guarantee availability is 30th October.

If you already know that you want to order some of your favourite Nordic Christmas products, we recommend reading the ordering information carefully before placing your order. Some products will be available earlier than others, and the delivery dates can vary depending on the product.

To make your Christmas shopping easier, Nordic Temptations will be open every Monday in December until Christmas.

By arrival with private vehicle the closest parking is the “La Poste” with entrance just in front of us on rue Vauban, outdoor parking and the garage “Pré-des-Pêcheurs” in the harbour.
