The Nice area is one of Europe’s prime regions for hiking with a gigantic network of trails. The difficulty lies in finding the one that’s right for you. We’ve cherry picked our 15 favourite hikes, easily accessible, easy to follow and absolutely spectacular. You’ll find hikes for the first time hiker as well as something for the avid adventurer. There are hikes near the sea and hikes higher up in the mountains. Here you can follow old roman roads, military roads from Word War II, pilgrim routes and old merchant roads. The heritage of a rich culture and a dramatic history are ever-present.
All the hikes can be reached in roughly an hour by car from Nice and most of them are easy to reach by bus or train. We provide tips on where to enjoy your well deserved after-walk and we have added a section we call ¨-While you are here¨ which includes things we enjoy doing in the vicinity. As an extra backup, there are downloadable map descriptions on all hikes so you’ll be sure to keep the correct route and don’t get lost.
